People search Louisville real estate by ZIP code more than by neighborhood name, so we built a page for every ZIP in the metro: real Louisville MLS numbers (homes for sale, median prices, days on market), the neighborhoods inside each ZIP with links to our full guides, what your money buys, taxes and commute, and a live listing search for that ZIP. This is the index. Pick your ZIP below, or use the Louisville Neighborhood Matcher if you don't know where to start.

How to use the Louisville ZIP code guide

Each ZIP page is updated from the Louisville MLS (Metro Search) and shows October 2026 data as of November 8, 2026. Monthly medians bounce around in small ZIPs, so lean on the 12-month typical sold price for pricing a home and the October numbers for direction. Every page links to our live MLS search filtered to that ZIP, with price-band links so you can jump straight to homes in your budget, and a listing alert signup so new homes land in your inbox the morning they hit the market.

Louisville ZIP codes by MLS area

The Louisville MLS groups listings into numbered areas that agents use every day. Roughly: Area 0 is Downtown and Old Louisville (40202, 40203, 40208); Area 1 is West Louisville and Shively (40210, 40211, 40212, 40216); Area 2 is the Highlands, Germantown and Audubon Park (40204, 40205, 40213, 40217); Area 3 is Clifton, Crescent Hill and St. Matthews (40206, 40207); Area 4 is Pleasure Ridge Park and Valley Station (40258, 40272); Area 5 is the South End and Okolona (40214, 40215, 40219, 40228, 40229); Area 6 is Buechel, Hikes Point and Fern Creek (40218, 40220, 40291); Area 7 is Lyndon, Hurstbourne, Jeffersontown and Middletown (40222, 40223, 40242, 40243, 40299); Area 8 is the Northeast End (40241, 40245, 40059); Area 9 is Prospect's Jefferson County side. Oldham, Bullitt and Shelby Counties and Southern Indiana are their own areas. If a listing's area number doesn't match what you expected, the ZIP page will straighten it out.

What the ZIP data says about Louisville right now

Inventory is up in almost every ZIP compared with a year ago (40229, 40272, 40291, 40245 and 40299 each have 135 to 175 homes for sale), prices have held or risen in most of the county, and days on market stretched out this fall after a very fast spring. The ZIPs still reading as tight seller's markets are the central and near-east ones (40205, 40207, 40213, 40220, 40222, 40242); the ZIPs with the most room to negotiate are the far south, southwest and far east subdivisions with new construction competing against resales. The full county picture is in the Louisville Housing Market Report, and the price-range view is in Louisville housing market by price range.
