Rob Bergeron here. When someone asks me what homes are really selling for in Louisville, the honest answer is "it depends on the ZIP code." A $225,000 sale is normal in 40216 and would be a bargain in 40207. Below are the actual closed-sale price levels for 12 Louisville ZIP codes, pulled straight from Louisville MLS statistics, plus the city-wide numbers that tell you how fast and how close to asking price homes are closing.

These are sold prices, not asking prices. Asking prices are opinions. Closed prices are what buyers actually paid.

Louisville city-wide: where sold prices stand right now

In September 2026 the median sold price for a Louisville home was $280,000, up from $268,500 in October 2025 and well above the $255,000 low in January 2026. Homes closed in an average of 27.8 days on the market, and the typical home sold for 98.3% of its list price. Seasonal swings are real: average days on market stretched to roughly 40 days last winter and shortened to about 25 days by this summer.

Median sold price by Louisville ZIP code

The table shows three things for each ZIP: the typical monthly median over the past 12 months (the steadiest number), the low-to-high range of those monthly medians, and the latest month (September 2026). Single months in smaller ZIP codes can jump around because only a handful of homes close, so lean on the 12-month typical figure first.

What the ZIP-code numbers tell you

Price tiers are far apart

The highest typical sold prices run in 40245 (about $483,800) and 40207 (about $442,000), while 40213, 40216 and 40218 sit near $220,000. That gap of more than $200,000 is why a city-wide average is nearly useless for pricing one specific house.

Some ZIPs are climbing, some are cooling

Comparing the latest three months to the three months before, 40204 and 40299 rose, while 40205 and 40245 pulled back. Moves like that are usually a mix of what happened to sell in a given month and real demand shifts, which is why I look at both the latest month and the 12-month range.

Entry-level ZIPs are the steadiest

40216, 40218 and 40219 moved in a narrow band all year. If you are buying a first home or a rental in the $200,000 to $250,000 range, prices there have been predictable, and that predictability is useful when you are running numbers.

How to use this if you are selling

Start with your ZIP's typical sold price, then adjust for condition, size, lot, school area and the specific street. The best pricing tool is the handful of homes that actually closed near yours in the past 90 days. I run that analysis for every seller before we talk list price. Get your own number with the free home value tool, then see what you would actually walk away with using the seller net proceeds calculator.

How to use this if you are buying or investing

If a listing is priced well above its ZIP's typical sold range, ask what is different about it, because the market has not been paying that. If it is priced well below, ask why and get an inspection. Investors comparing ZIPs should also look at off-market deals, where pricing often lands under these closed-sale medians.
